The Buddhist temple of Wat Samrat is located in the south of Samui just off the 4169 ring road at Ban Tha Po. One of the temple halls contains a variety of statues of Buddha, some sitting in the meditation position, others reclining and more upstanding.

These images have come here from across Thailand, India and Myanmar. Many of these statues are highly valuable and the hall remains locked, due to recent attempted burglaries. However, simply ask the monks and they are happy to let you view the images.
