While a visit to Ko Samui may seem like paradise, SITCA's curriculum is down-to-earth, comprehensive and above all enjoyable. Our chefs are Thai experts with years of experience cooking Thai, and a love of their art. Whether avid home cook or aspiring professional, you will learn all the skills you need to cook one of Asia's most varied and fascinating cuisines.

Thai food lovers enjoy a special bonus. We purchase all our produce, fish, and meat daily from the local market, so you will not be not only preparing, but also enjoying some of the best cuisine that Southern Thailand has to offer.

Featured on BBC World TV's Holiday program and recommended in the Lonely Planet, Rough Guide and Frommer's guides to Thailand, our Thai cooking classes are taught in our 90 sq. meter modern air-conditioned facility. Everyone is equipped with their own burner, and everything needed for a complete hands-on experience.

You also receive a cook booklet which is yours to make notes in and keep. For those ingredients which may not be available where you live, suitable substitutes are suggested. When the meal is ready we eat together Thai style in the elegant setting of our dining room, and every student can invite a friend to join them at no charge.

Our menus change for every day of the week, and most recipes can be adapted for vegetarians. Our twice daily 3 hour class starts with the preparation of one of our famous home made Thai curry pastes, and is followed by instruction in how to prepare 3 more dishes. There is a different paste and Thai curry dish for each day (Monday-Saturday.) The meal follows immediately after class and the fruits of your labours will be some of the most sumptuous Thai food you will have in Thailand.

Intensive Training at our Thai Cooking School

You may be considering a career in the Thai food industry or currently work in or own a Thai restaurant. Or perhaps you are simply a keen amateur cook with a desire to delve deeply into Thai cuisine. There is no better way to achieve your goals than to learn from Thai culinary masters in the country of the cuisine's origin, at Southern Thailand's internationally acclaimed Thai cooking school. SITCA is Thailand's first and only culinary vocational training center to be approved by London based City & Guilds. A C&G qualification for Basic Food Preparation can now be earned as part of SITCA's 12 day program.

One and Two Week Programs


Six Day Thai Cuisine Immersion - 52,500 baht (accommodation not included)
Sixty dishes are learned hands-on in 6 intensive days. Just as in our longer Training for Professionals program, the curriculum has been painstakingly designed to expose students to all areas of the cuisine including salads, curries, soups, stir-fries, steamed dishes, and desserts. Learn many tips about the preparation of authentic Thai cuisine to which non Thais are rarely exposed. Every student prepares every dish. Sessions take place beginning the third Monday of every month. Instruction is Monday through Saturday for one week and begins each day at 10:00 am.

 


Twelve Day Training for Professionals
- 105,000 baht (accommodation not included)
Those who participate in this program learn over 100 recipes hands-on, delving into areas usually reserved for the domain of native born cooks. We reveal dozens of details about the preparation of authentic Thai cuisine to which non Thais are almost never exposed. A full day introduction to the art of Thai style fruit and vegetable carving is also included. Those who wish to receive additional instruction in this area can make special arrangements to do so. Sessions take place beginning the first Monday of every month. Instruction is Monday through Saturday for two weeks and begins each day at 10:00 am. This program is now City & Guilds approved and will earn you a C&G Skills Proficiency Qualification in Basic Food Preparation.

The SITCA Training for Professionals program was fantastic. The staff were all extremely professional - making it a great learning environment.
