Bays of Koh Samui
The small tranquil bays of Samui offer a ideal alternative to the larger beaches of the island. Found in some of the more remote areas of the coastline away from the more developed locations they are often the places to find local brightly coloured fishing boats at anchor in the heat of the day or when weather conditions are poor. The clear warm waters of Samui's bays, protected by headlands and coral reefs, provide possibly the best conditions for swimming on the island. Breathtaking scenic views out to the Gulf of Thailand, pristine white sandy beaches with few visitors and the scent of the tropical sea puts the sheltered bays of Samui among the best of any tropical island worldwide.
