Laem Yai

The position of Laem Yai ( known by locals as Kao Laem Yai ) at the far northwestern corner of Samui, makes it one of the best places on the island to go and see amazing sunsets over Koh Phaluai and Anthong National Marine Park, looking west. This headland covered in tropical greenery with gentle sloping hillsides is the location of a couple luxury resorts, some villas and a small cafe. The local fishermen frequent this area as the deeper waters offshore are rich fishing grounds. An electricity supply was installed in this area in June 2009. The small level of development in this area has had little or no effect on the natural and tranquil beauty of this peaceful headland.
