Chaweng is the beach on Koh Samui where you will find most bars, discos, clubs and pubs. This is where you should head if you are a "party animal". Chaweng Beach Road is 6-7 km long, so it may be wise to consider a taxi if you are going between two places. Remember to always negotiate the price before you enter the taxi so you don't end up in a minor scam situation.
The two largest discotheques or clubs in Samui is called Green Mango (located on Soi Green Mango, in central Chaweng) and the Reggae Pub (Situated behind Chaweng Lake in central Chaweng)....
Lamai by night
Lamai is Samui's second largest beach resort and has a strong following among visitors and expatriates alike. Smaller than Chaweng, the scene at Lamai has everything from the ubiquitous bar beers to discos, music venues, and even lady boxing.
There's lots of foot stomping at Fusion and a few genuine pubs as well as restaurant/bars for those who like to eat as they drink.
Fisherman's
village by night
Local people and expats living on Koh Samui have a nickname for Bophut beach which is theFisherman's villagedue to its strong connection with Samui fishermen.
If you are seeking a place on Samui which still has the original and laid back feel of the Samui that was discovered by European backpackers then Bophutbeach is an excellent choice.
Bang Rak beach is located in the north east of Koh Samui and has white sand, nice swimming options and safety for kids. Bang Rak is more than just a beach. The surrounding village and a must visit for its restaurants, low key but fun nightlife and general fun atmosphere.
It's a quiet area, but there's a lot on offer.
Maenam by night
Maenam is a little more laid back than most as far as nightlife goes. Sure it doesn't have trendy discos, and go-go bars and the like, but it certainly isn't dead either
