Fisherman's village by night

Fisherman's village by night

Local people and expats living on Koh Samui have a nickname for Bophut beach which is theFisherman's villagedue to its strong connection with Samui fishermen.

If you are seeking a place on Samui which still has the original and laid back feel of the Samui that was discovered by European backpackers then Bophutbeach is an excellent choice.

Fisherman's villageis a strong contrast to the more popular and westernized Samui resort areas such as Chaweng and Lamai. Bophut village consist for the main part of wooden and original Chinese shop houses which were build by Chinese immigrants who flocked to Samui in the previous century.
