Koh Phangan is an island in the Gulf of Thailand in southeast Thailand. Occupying an area of 168 square km it lies 55kms from the mainland , 15kms from its sister island of Koh Samui and 35kms from Koh Tao. Populated by around 12,000 inhabitants the main town is Thong Sala. The first settlers were believed to be Muslim sea-gypsies from the Malay Peninsula around 2,000 years ago. The name Koh Phangan comes from the word "Ngan" which means sandbar, there are many offshore sandbars around the island. Famous for its Full Moon Party on Haad Rin Beach which attracts up to 20,000 people every month, Koh Phangan is featured in Alex Garland's novel The Beach.

10.45: Snorkeling on the coral reef or swimming.
12.00: Disembarkation at Chalokloum, traditional fishing village.
12.30: Lunch in a beach restaurant.
14.00: Departure from Chalokloum and discovery of Tan Pan Noi, Tan Pan Yai,
and Tan Sadet beaches.
15.00: Swimming and rest at Hat Yang or Hat Yao beach.
16.00: Come back to Koh Samui and passage at Haad Rin famous for its Full Moon Parties.
17.00: Disembarkation at Big Buddha Pier.
