Irrawaddy Dolphins (Orcaella brevirostris)

Irrawaddy dolphins are one of the most endangered species of dolphin on the planet. They can still be found in the coastal waters of the Gulf of Thailand, as they prefer shallow waters, river estuaries and can be found far inland in rivers where they follow the “eel catfish “usually around October. Characterized by a round head, no beak, and grey to slate blue in colour with slightly lighter undersides these dolphins have a small triangular dorsal fin half way along its back. Irrawaddy dolphins grow to a maximum length of about 2.3 meters and weigh up to 135 kgs. Females reach sexual maturity at 7-9 years and give birth to a single calf every 2-3 years.

# Dolphin watching (Pink & Irrawaddy) along the coast of Kanom.

# Long-tail boat through mangroves and deep forest passing the fishing village. Delicious lunch by the river.
# Onwards to a fantastic beach for swimming and relaxation.
# Cave adventure with amazing stalactite and stalagmite formations.
# Speed boat back to Samui. Transfer back to hotel.

# Depart by speedboat passing the “Five Islands” heading towards the coast of Kanom on the mainland. (about 30 minutes)
#Dolphin watching (Pink & Irrawaddy) along the coast of Kanom.
(Estimated 90% chance of sighting).
# Relax or snorkel at South Coral Islands
(Cleaned and disinfected mask and snorkel provided).
# Special Thai lunch.
# Speed boat back to Samui. Transfer back to hotel.
